Associate Lecturer in BA Humanistic Counselling - Personal and Professional Development Group


An opportunity has arisen to appoint an Associate Lecturer within our Psychology and Counselling Department to deliver and support high quality teaching on the BA in Humanistic Counselling and Certificate in Counselling programme, to a diverse range of students.


You will primarily act as a facilitator on Year 2, in the BA (Hons) Humanistic Counselling, working Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.


Principal Accountabilities:

The post-holder will be required to monitor student development, giving feedback where appropriate and making a full and active contribution to the range of activities that ensure quality teaching and learning within the Counselling Department.In liaison with the co-tutor/facilitator the post holder will be responsible for the preparation and regular update of the module handbook and ensure the latest University policies and procedures are adhered to.There will be a requirement to attend regular team meetings outside of the contracted period, approximately five per annum for which you will be paid at the appropriate hourly meeting rate.

Familiarity with the Humanistic approach and group process will be essential in order to enhance the students'' self-development and growing competence in the counselling process. You will also be a qualified, accredited Humanistic Counsellor with a relevant degree, ideally at Masters level.


With an adaptable and enthusiastic approach to team working, you will have strong organisational and administrative skills and have current knowledge of changing practices within the counselling field.
